“Boardman Gelly & Co are veterans of the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show having only missed two shows since making their debut in 1992, collecting four RHS Bronze Medals and eight RHS Silver Medals along the way.”

Text Box: Our garden in 2007 was a “Theatrical Tableau” inspired by a verse from William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
A Stone Temple where Titania sleeps amongst a bed of roses to give a focal point to the garden, with a woodland bank behind, under planted with flowers of the verse.
In the foreground of the garden there is a Box hedging enclosing White and Blue flowering perennials with Silver Grey foliage, Topiary and Statues to give strong lines, typical of the period.
The garden is designed to give a “Dreamy Vision with a Moonlight Feel” as portrayed in the Shakespeare Play.

We designed a garden based on the average size of a town garden within in a new urban development.  The garden has a contemporary look consisting of three connecting ovals, the first shape next to the house being finished in Pebbletext. The middle oval is formed of railway sleepers, power-sanded smooth, with planted tram lines of chamomile and thyme.  The third area, used as a relaxing area, a hammock hangs on one side with a large bubble stone water feature on the other side giving sounds and movement to the garden. The ‘jungle’ feel is created by the planting scheme of predominantly grasses, ferns, bamboo and perennials growns for colour and foliage.

The ‘Old Forge’ in Surrey, a hub of the community and where the ‘Smithy’ still crafts a living is the inspiration for this garden. To the front of the garden a small brook flows, handy for the forge and for watering the garden. A wash of colour surrounds the forge created by wildflowers and cultivated perennials which would also have been used in the home. In his spare moments the Smithy tends soft fruit an vegetables for the table. A boundary of old split hazel post and rails surrounds the forge and you will notice a horse drawn cart ready 'to put to' at one side.

Text Box: “COMBAT STRESS” SHOW GARDEN 2008
Text Box: For the first time Boardman, Gelly & Co teamed up with Combat Stress, a Leatherhead based Charity who work to help rebuild the lives of veterans who suffer injury to the mind.
The garden will reflect the journey a veteran takes as they begin their treatments, with harsh and confused planting plan, following a path of railway sleepers round a “question mark” shaped wall. The unknown journey eventually ended up with softer planting and an Olive Tree surrounded by benches for sitting and reflecting. Surrounding the garden will be 3 coloured obelisks, with cascading water, in red white & blue.
